Charles Correa: The pioneer of architecture
Credited for the creation of modern architecture in post-Independence India, he was celebrated for his sensitivity to the needs of the urban poor and for his use of traditional methods and materials.[1]
He was awarded the Padma Shri in 1972, and the second highest civilian honour, the Padma Vibhushan given by Government of India in 2006. He was also awarded the 1984 Royal Gold Medal for architecture, by the Royal Institute of British Architects. (Source: Wikipedia)

Tribute to the Mahatma! Rural development is the key.

Today is the Jayanti of our Bapu, the Mahatma Gandhi. We wish him on his birthday, pay tribute to him. He has given not only to India but to the world so many things. He is one of few leaders who lived their life on the ideals they tried to taught. I appreciate the swachh Bharat mission of our Govt initiated by Prime Minister. Even the little success of this mission would be a biggest tribute to Bapu. But Today, The way we are trying to develop the nation, is just the reverse of the thought process of Gandhiji. Gandhiji not only liked the cleanliness but he was more concerned about the rural development. He was concerned about sustainable development of our country through empowerment of rural people. He wanted our farming to be developed as India is still a country dependent on farming. There is already a chaos in the cities due to population, haphazard development, traffic congestion, crimes many such reasons and we are still pouring them with policies and indirectly uprooting...
